President Clinton Visit 2000

Visit of President William Jefferson Clinton to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

November 2000, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

Introduction

This month, following the APEC meeting in Brunei, President Clinton travels to Vietnam at the invitation of President Tran Duc Luong. He will address the range of issues the United States hopes to advance with the people and government of Vietnam following the normalization of our ties with their country.
