U.S. Citizen Services

Notarials

Notarial services are provided to the U.S. citizens 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The U.S. Citizen Services unit performs various notarial services, including:

  • Affidavit of Single Status for marriage in Vietnam.
  • Affidavit of Change of Name
  • Affidavit of Birth (for lost birth certificates)
  • Acknowledgement of signature for legal documents - Power of Attorney
  • True Copies of Documents

Fees for notarial services are US$30.00 for the first United States consular seal affixed and US$20.00 for each additional United States consular seal affixed; for certification of true copy, US$30.00 for the first copy and US$20.00 for each additional copy provided at the same time; and for authentication, US$30.00.

Documents of other citizens that are to be used in the United States may also be notarized. For notarization, you are requested to bring your passport or other ID card for identification purposes.

Please note that commercial documents of U.S. origin for use in Vietnam cannot be notarized at the Consulate General and must go through the authentication process in the United States. The U.S. Citizen Services Unit provides a handout on the procedures required for authentication.
